The four-player Quartet was only made as a dedicated game while the two-player Quartet 2 was sold only as a conversion kit. Beyond that, the games are exactly the same. Quartet cabinets were often converted to other four-player games, so finding a dedicated machine can be somewhat difficult.
This game can be converted to the two-player Quartet 2 by swapping ROM boards. This conversion will require a Quartet 2 wiring harness, since the ROM boards determine the game board's pinouts.
