Description

The basic concept is to knock down all 10 drop targets numbered as rounds 1-10. When you have done this there is an eleventh drop target that when hit can give you an extra ball. The crowd roars when rounds are won and after a certain period of time if you have not knocked down the next round you lose that round until the end of the 10 round sequence. Rocky is a very difficult game to find and only 1504 were ever made. It is believed that even less than that were ever actually produced completely.

Interestingly, the game is said to have been featured in the Rocky II movie, but this is not entirely true as the game in the movie was just a prop designed specifically for the movie and was not actually a complete game. When the game was released, the backglass and cabinet were drastically different from the game shown in the movie.

In the movie Rocky III, this game is in the arcade scene. A drunken Pauly throws a liqour bottle at it, thus smashing the upper scoreboard section.

Rocky was produced by Gottlieb, D. & Co. in 1982.
