Players launched the ball with a plunger. As the ball rolled back down, it would strike spring loaded bumpers to score points. There were also bumpers along the side, so as to keep the action going. The score was displayed at the top, on the marquee glass.

This was the first pinball game to not have pins or holes. It was also the first to have bumpers and keep the score for you. It was released in 1936 by Bally and was an instant success. Unlike previous games, this one bounced the ball a lot more, adding a new element to the game. A sequel, IBumper Sr.I, was released only three months later.PWhile quaint looking by todays standards, IBumperI began the look that modern pinball games would later take.
