Description

The RoweAmi R89 Video Jukebox was a 200 Selection 100 45 rpm records jukebox with the capability to play Videos using two 2 Toshiba BetaMax players connected to a video control unit. Each BetaMax tape could hold between 1030 videos and were released by RoweAmi VCA each month. Both players would hold the same identical tape so that if 2 videos were selected, player 1 could play the first video while player 2 could cue up the next one. If there was little time between selections, the computer would randomly select a 45 to play while the unit would cue the next video.Due to the unpopularity of the betamax format, and problems with the players, many operators removed the video units from these jukeboxes. The actual Beta video tape are rare since operators were required to return the tape at the end of each month when recieving the next months selections.
