Description

All patriotic Americans want to shake hands with Uncle Sam, so this classic strength tester was taking in pennies at arcades for many years. The firmness of the grip is indicated by the arrow on the dial, and a score of 300 rings the bell. Uncle Sam stands over six feet tall and is made of enameled iron mounted on a quartered oak cabinet. Copied by the International Mutoscope Co. in the 1920's and privately in 1978, the machine was first produced by the Caille Brothers Company around 1908.
