Ms. Pac-Man DescriptionMs. Pac-Man must eat all the dots in a maze in order to advance to the next stage. She's chased by killer ghosts but she can eat them while powered up after eating one of four large dots. Bonus points are awarded for eating the fruits and snacks that appear and wander the maze.Ms. Pac-Man was produced by Midway Manufacturing Co. in 1981. Midway Manufacturing Co. released 133 different machines in our database under this trade name, starting in 1959. However, on the last production run of the game, adhesive sticker art was used instead of paint. This leads many to believe that legitimate stickerart IMs. PacManI cabinets are bootlegged or use reproduction art, when in fact they often do not. Incidentally, the most commonly available reproduction set of side art and front art for IMs. PacManI was created using the later sticker version of the cabinet as a template. ConversionA variety of different speedup options have been made available to enhance the game. TechnicalThe game use a Z80 microprocessor and a Namco 3channel PSG for sounds.TriviaThis game, originally called ICrazy OttoI, was an elaborate enhancement of IPacManI created by a small company called General Computer Corporation. GCC pitched the title to Bally Midway who bought it and, after some minor changes, changed the game into IMs. PacManI. Bally Midway ultimately turned over the rights to Namco in an effort to appease them and not lose the licensing rights to future titles. Namco did ultimately stop licensing games to Bally Midway due to the release of Midways other unauthorized titles such as IPacMan PlusI, IBaby PacManI, and IJr. PacManI.PDespite being released in the early 1980s, the game continues to retain its popularity among players. Machines can still be found almost everywhere including most arcades or amusement centers in the United States.PIn 2000, Ms. PacMan was selected as the spokesgame character for the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations httpwww.nabco.org .
