Conversion

The game can be converted to IGhosts n GoblinsI or ITrojanI by simply swapping boards.

Game Introduction

Fly a jetpacked-spaceman through continuously scrolling tunnels shooting various spacecraft and wall-mounted cannons. The sections are marked "A" to "Z" and there are end-of-level craft to destroy at E, J, O, T and Z.

The direction of scrolling changes after defeating each boss. Sections A through E scroll right to left, F through J scroll top to bottom, etc.

Game Play

A spaceman faces either left or right shooting a laser gun horizontally and throwing grenades with each press of the fire button. Use the Turn button to face the other direction. When you die you go back to the start of the current section.

Destroying certain ground targets release B, S or P symbols that you collect for bonus, speed-up or weapon power-up respectively.

VAPS Arcade/Coin-Op Section Z Census

There are 12,084 members of the Video Arcade Preservation Society / Vintage Arcade Preservation Society, 9,585 whom participate in our arcade census project of games owned, wanted, or for sale. Census data currently includes 162,631 machines (6,830 unique titles).

Common - There are approximately 27 known instances of this machine presumably owned by our current and past members. More are likely owned by non-members. 10 of these machines are owned by our active Section Z collectors. And of these, 1 is a conversion in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and 9 are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

Wanted - No active members have added this machine to their wish list.

At any given time, our active members are listing on VAPS on average of 4,400 games they are looking for, and 3,600 games for sale.

This game ranks a 9 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most often seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on census ownership records.

Rarity and Popularity independently are NOT necessarily indications of value. [More Information]

Trivia

This game is the first of Capcoms JetPack Hero shooters. Other games that fall into this catergory are ISide Arms Hyper DyneI and IForgotten WorldsI.PThe NES home version of this game is very different in that it is not linear rather, you have to pick a direction and hopefully the right one at the end of each level to move on. The hero in the NES version is called Captain Commando.
