Cheats, Tricks, Bugs, and Easter EggsThe peons that attack you after unloading from the ships cannot fire diagonally.Game PlayRampart has three modes of game play, depending on how many players are in the game:In a one-player game, the player has to defend his castle from an armada of sailing ships. There are two or three types of ships, each type denoted by the color and size of the ship. The larger the ship, the more shots it takes to sink it. A two-player game presents the players a choice of two different game modes: A three-player game is identical to a two-player game river mode, except that the play area is divided into three equal sections by an inverted Y-shaped river system. TechnicalTwo versions were made available: a three-player trackball dedicated version (1990) and two-player joystick kit (1991).The PCBs are identical except for the ROMs, one GAL and some of the inputs have pull-down resistors instead of pull-ups. The joystick version is straight JAMMA, while the trackball version reuses the joystick axes as the trackball inputs clock-up/left and direction-down/right. This is the pseudo-standard way a trackball is used in a JAMMA pinout. Manuals
