The team battle mode allows up to eight players to test their skills against each other.

Game Play

Matches can be won by pushing the opponent out of the ring, knockout, or by having more stamina remaining after the 30 seconds elapse.

Cabinet Information

Sega offered two types of cabinets for this game an unusual looking pinball machinesized cabinet with a 33inch monitor and a large 50inch projection screen megalo unit. The marquee is greenishblue and features the characters of the game. Both cabinets offer playing instructions on or near the control panel.

Conversion

The Model 3 boardset can be JAMMAtized. They are difficult to find outside of Japan, but retailers in Japan offer JAMMA kits for them.

Can be converted/upgraded to Virtua Fighter 3: Team Battle by using a ROM upgrade kit. A simple ROM swap adds new features, a team battle mode and various tweaks and adjustments to the fighting engine, making the game far more balanced.

Miscellaneous

The Team Battle version of Virtua Fighter 3 is the fifth title in Sega's series, which was originally released in 1996. Four other revisions were released in between, but as far as gameplay is concerned along with some major graphics changes, Virtua Fighter 3 Team BattleI is an entirely new game.
