Game Introduction

The planets that you must warp to before you can reach Earth are Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. It only takes two warps to arrive at Neptune, but all others including Earth take three warps to get to. Each time you reach a planet, there is a Challenge Stage where you try to destroy as many enemies as possible. After reaching Earth, there is a Challenge Stage followed by a very fast "three warps to Neptune" stage. After this, the levels and the background music start over.

This game has often been described as a cross between Galaga and Tempest.

VAPS Arcade/Coin-Op Venus Census

There are 12,084 members of the Video Arcade Preservation Society / Vintage Arcade Preservation Society, 9,585 whom participate in our arcade census project of games owned, wanted, or for sale. Census data currently includes 162,631 machines (6,830 unique titles).

Uncommon - There are approximately 11 known instances of this machine presumably owned by our current and past members. More are likely owned by non-members. 6 of these machines are owned by our active Venus collectors. And of these, 6 are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

For Sale - There is one active VAPS member with an extra Venus circuit board for sale.

Wanted - No active members have added this machine to their wish list.

At any given time, our active members are listing on VAPS on average of 4,400 games they are looking for, and 3,600 games for sale.

This game ranks a 3 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most often seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on census ownership records.

Rarity and Popularity independently are NOT necessarily indications of value. [More Information]

Trivia

Although many players believe it's impossible to actually reach Earth, it is possible. Several people on rec.games.video.arcade.collecting have completed the task. Earth is also seen on the title screen during the demo play.
