Game Introduction

This is Konami's version of Street Fighter II - The World Warrior. Both games have cartoonish international fighters competing in exotic locations. Martial Champion differs in that some characters use weapons, the sprites were some of the largest used in a fighting game up to that point (1993), the life meter is at the bottom of the screen, and this game only uses three buttons instead of six.

Game Play

Fighters advance by defeating their opponents. Each character has its own unique special moves (e.g. fireballs) which are accomplished by completing joystick and button sequences. After advancing to the finals, the player faces a boss character. This enemy fighter is not selectable for play during the game, but it has all of the special moves of the regular fighters.
