Description

This game is a bootleg of Defender by Williams. It was extremely common in Canada during the heyday of Defender. The title screen says "Defender Command (or Defense Hall) Presents Defense"

There were some subtle diferences with the gameplay, however. Although the enemies were all the same, Avenger played slower than the original most likely caused by the use of inferior electronics or design and its implementation. The speed difference becomes more pronounced and noticeable in the higher waves and also whenever there was a great many number enemies, objects or action occurs simultaneously on the screen.

A "Defender" expert would agree that "Avenger" has slower and easier gameplay than the original.
