Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers DescriptionFour new characters, Cammy, Fei Long, Dee Jay, and T. Hawk, have been added to the previous list of characters from this series. Also, the graphics and sound have been improved over the earlier versions.Cabinet InformationThe entire cabinet is a geographical earth. The top of the montitor bezel reads: SUPER STREET FIGHTER II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS HAS Smoother animation, and new and improved backgrounds, and sounds. Four new player characters introducing T. Hawk, Cammy, Fei Long, and Dee Jay. Has different colors when you push one of the buttons.Game IntroductionThe main improvement for this update are the four new fighters.MiscellaneousThis was the first game made for the CP System II. It consists of a CPU/main board (also called the "A" board) and a game/ROM board (also called a "B" board). There are four different colored versions for use in different regions.

Of these, 10 of them are original dedicated machines, 4 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and 55 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired. For Sale - There is one VAPS member with a Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers machine for sale. There are 1 VAPS members with extra Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers circuit boards for sale. VAPS members are totally independent of VAPS and the International Arcade Museum, and we are unable to recommend, endorce, or guarantee any person or company selling games or game parts. Wanted - No members have added this machine to their wish list. There is one VAPS member looking for a Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers circuit board set. This game ranks a 42 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most often seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on census ownership records.
TechnicalThe extra buttons are connected directly to the A board (CPU/main board) via a special connector. This connector consists of two rows of 17 pins numbered 1 through 34 (odd numbers on top, even numbers on the bottom). Pins 33 and 34 are GND. The player one kick buttons (four through six) are located on pins 19, 17, and 15 and the player two kick buttons connect to 21, 23, and 9.TriviaWhile New Challengers Cammy, Fei Long, and T. Hawk were created by Japanese employees at Capcom, the Jamaican kickboxer DeeJay was created by James Goddard of Capcom USA.Legacy
