Game Introduction

Do you have the rhythm? Then step up onto the stage and prove it! In this dancing game, move and groove to the music by stepping on the arrows as they scroll up the screen. Do well enough, and you progress to the next stage.

In this latest installment of the Dance Dance Revolution series, one new feature is the ability to play full-length versions of some of the songs. Instead of the short minute and a half versions, you can now play for as long as four minutes (depending upon the song, of course). However, choosing one of these longer songs will count as two. So if the machine is set to give the player three songs, you can play one extended and one normal-length, or vice-versa, and the game ends afterward. Also, you have the option of choosing who your character is from the usual cast from past games in the series. Additionally, the game now runs in 60FPS!

Game Play

Start by selecting a 'character' to represent you (player one may pick Afro, Janet, Rage, Emi, Johnny or Charmy, and player two may select from Robo, Zukin, Spike, Mahou, Babylon and Alice) and song, (in this version, the difficulties are conveniently listed next to each song, and by pressing the down arrow twice, you can switch between basic (easiest), trick (harder), and maniac(most difficult) steps.) then the game begins. As the arrows reach the top of the screen, press the corresponding button(s) with your feet.

The songs range from one foot (simple) (they are rated in feet instead of stars) up to nine, known as 'Catastrophic' songs, increasing in difficulty as far as speed (beats per min.) and are nearly impossible to finish without spending mass amounts of money or investing in any of the import home versions and dance mats! Another brand-new feature of this game is the 'extended songs' that you will need the utmost stamina to complete, as they are somewhat longer than the normal songs.
