Cabal Description

Viewed from behind, you stand behind a wall for shielding and must fend off attacking troops and tanks etc. using your gun and grenades. At the end of each level, all the buildings collapse and you run off up the road to the next stage.

Game Play

Almost anything can be destroyed if you fire enough bullets or grenades at the objects. Some of the power-up weapons are formidable. Shooting unusual characters, pigs, bushes etc. will yield extra weapons.

Miscellaneous

Licensed to Fabtek for US manufacture and distribution.

VAPS Arcade Census

There are 6,993 members of the Video Arcade Preservation Society / Vintage Arcade Preservation Society, 4,022 whom participate in our arcade census project of games owned, wanted, or for sale. Census data currently includes 65,220 machines (3,798 unique titles).

Very Common - There are 80 known instances of this machine owned by Cabal collectors who are members. Of these, 11 of them are original dedicated machines, 8 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and 61 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

For Sale - There are 4 VAPS members with Cabal machines for sale. There are 4 VAPS members with extra Cabal circuit boards for sale. VAPS members are totally independent of VAPS and the International Arcade Museum, and we are unable to recommend, endorce, or guarantee any person or company selling games or game parts.

Wanted - There is one VAPS member currently looking for Cabal.

This game ranks a 46 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most often seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on census ownership records.

This game ranks a 2 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most often wanted, 1=least common) in popularity based on census want list records.

Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. [More Information]

Technical

The joystick version is JAMMA (not sure about trackball version) and had a small module that fitted into a socket to allow the use of a joystick. Possibly the two versions are interchangeable by the use of this module. This game seems to have been produced in the early days of the JAMMA standard, and in order to get the third button, TAD used the TEST and SERVICE connectors to act as the inputs. Often there will be a wire soldered from these points to the now standard button 3 contact on the JAMMA edge connector.
